Messages & Notifications
Send a direct message
Direct messages are private one-to-one conversations — how you talk to a seller, a buyer, or another member off the public feed. Messages open in a panel from Activity → Messages.
Steps
- Open Activity → Messages.
- Click the compose (pencil) button to start a new conversation.
- Search for a person, write your message, and send.
Use Search messages to find an existing conversation and the Only show unread toggle to focus on new activity. You can expand the panel to a full-screen view.
Tips & tricks
- Contacting a seller from a listing (Message seller) automatically starts a message thread here, tied to that listing.
- Keep deal conversations in RumbleSeat rather than moving to text/email — it keeps a record and keeps you inside the platform's safety guidance.
Frequently asked
Someone is bothering me — what can I do? Block them (see Block or unblock users); blocked users can't message or follow you.
