Set up multi-factor authentication (MFA)

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds a second verification step at sign-in, so a password alone isn't enough to access your account. You can configure more than one method so you always have a backup.

Options

Go to My Account → Profile → Sign-in & security → Multi-factor authentication and click Add verification method. You can use:

  • A passkey — Face ID, Touch ID, or Windows Hello.
  • An authenticator app or text code — works with Authy, 1Password, or Google Authenticator.

Tips & tricks

  • Set up two methods (for example, a passkey plus an authenticator app) so you're never locked out if you change phones.
  • You can change or remove methods anytime from Settings → Security; your password remains as a fallback.
