Opened in May 2011 in a purpose-built 800 m² building in Akureyri, this museum documents 100 years of motorcycle history in Iceland, with a collection spanning classic British, European and Japanese bikes as well as American marques such as Harley-Davidson. Its origin traces to the personal motorcycle collection of the late Heiðar Þ. Jónsson.

The largest privately owned vehicle museum in Iceland, formally opened in 2004 near Hofsós in Skagafjörður. It exhibits around 100 vehicles indoors — cars, buses, motorcycles, snowmobiles and agricultural machinery — with several hundred more vehicles and machines displayed outside.
Iceland's oldest transportation museum, established in 1998 and opened to the public in 2000, located in the Kaldakinn valley between Akureyri and Húsavík. It holds one of Iceland's largest collections of historic cars and trucks alongside displays on Icelandic road and transport history.
