Car museums & collections in Mexico

Private museum established in 1995 by the Puebla chapter of the Club Mexicano del Automóvil Antiguo (founded 1968), displaying members' antique and classic cars, including a section on 18th-19th century horse-drawn carriages.

Housed in a former army barracks in Parque Niños Héroes and inaugurated in July 1990, displaying more than 60 antique and classic automobiles from the early 1900s through the 1960s across two permanent halls.

Latin America's pioneering classic-car museum, founded by Arturo Pérez Gutiérrez and opened around 1989/1991 in San Pablo Tepetlapa, Coyoacán; displayed more than 120 vehicles from 1904 onward, including steam-, gasoline-, and diesel-powered cars, with roughly 30 cars rotated periodically from lending collectors. Permanently closed in December 2021.

Interactive automotive-history museum within the state-run Parque Guanajuato Bicentenario, opened in 2018, combining permanent educational exhibits (assembly-line experience, "anatomy of the automobile") with rotating displays of private classic-car collections and new-vehicle launches.

Private museum in Cancún founded and directed by Benjamín de la Peña, dedicated to the history of the Carrera Panamericana road race; holds roughly 45 antique and classic automobiles (1917-1992) plus an archive of more than 18,000 photographs and 200 hours of film on the race.
